This was our first student presentation and although I was nervous, I enjoyed the process of investigating my own work over the past few years. It was very insightful to see the other student’s presentation and to listen to the feedback that each received from each other and the tutors.
What a wonderful and great challenge it was to get all my thoughts and ideas into one document. I love how this MA is ‘forcing’ me to make sense of my art and to articulate what I do and why. What do I do in my practice and why? Who is informing my work? The relationship to my work and wider reading? I have never been asked these questions and it was very insightful to see what was unfolding.
I enjoyed the presentations of my peers and how some overlap. I felt reassured afterwards because I saw that we were all in different stages with out work and ideas. I was able to silence the inner critic that was telling me that I was behind and unclear and lost… I was on the right track and I was becoming excited about my theme.
